What is your style? How do you look when you walk out of your doors every morning? Haven't thought about it much? Well, it's time to start. Your wardrobe tells people what to think about you!! Whether you are throwing on whatever is clean or really taking the time to think about what you put on, your get-up is making a HUGE statement about the DIVA you are.
I know a lot of people say, "don't judge a book by it's cover", but come on now! The package actually does tell you a lot about what's on the inside. Let's look at it like this. If you're at the grocery store picking bananas, which ones would you choose? Would you choose the beautiful yellow ones that have a little bit of green on the top, or the dingy yellow ones with brown spots on them? I'm sure you would choose the yellow ones that have the green at the top. Why? Because we have learned that those are the ones that taste good. And because you are judging a book by it's cover, just like everybody else. You may not like it, but it's just the way we are. If a person doesn't know you, then that's all they have to go by and you only get one time to make a first impression.
So what do the choices we make about our wardrobe really say about us? We can say a lot of things about why we choose to wear what we wear. Some of us may dress certain ways to get the attention of men. We may say, "this is all I have." Or we could say, "there is absolutely nothing wrong with what I am wearing." Some girls may say, "if you got it, flaunt it." But the real question here is how far is too far? What would be considered too revealing? Too tight? Have you considered how your wardrobe and body may make the guys around you feel? Being sexy may very well be your goal. But let's go to the SOURCE! That's only way we can get to the bottom of it. What does God think about what we wear from day to day? What does His Word say about it? I'm glad you asked, girlfriend!! :-)
Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female." Do you think the image of God is ugly or beautiful. Do you think the image of God is seductive or sexy (just trying to keep it real). No. God made US in his image. So what should that mean when we look in the mirror? We should be reflecting his image. He is our Father, so we should resemble Him in the same way we resemble our earthly parents. Ask God is he pleased with what you have on. HE WILL LET YOU KNOW. Before you step foot out the door let's make sure that we do an image check!! Who are we resembling? Are your resembling your Heavenly Father? If so, ROCK ON!!! If not, be reminded of your value and God's love for you. And most importantly try to search why exactly you desire to wear what you have on.
Until next time,.............KEEP IT DIVA!!!
